On August 9th we had a pleasure of hosting Ayyoub Amaneddine, ArabNet’s business development executive. He came all the way from Beirut to be a part of Coded Talks, and talk about a huge conference they are organizing in Kuwait for the first time.
ArabNet started in 2009, and today it organizes major annual conferences across the Middle East. It also publishes news and analysis of the digital sector on its online news portal and print, and creates original research reports about the digital industry in MENA.
First edition of ArabNet conference Kuwait will take place in Millennium Hotel on October 4-5. It will consist of panels, workshops, discussions, talks, and two competitions – Ideathon and StartUp Demo. ArabNet team is expecting over 500 attendees and more than 50 local and international speakers.
Ideas and startups are more than welcome
Ideathon is a competition for entrepreneurs with innovative ideas related to web and mobile that have not been built, giving them the opportunity to turn their ideas into reality. You can apply for it until August 24th. A panel of judges will review submissions and shortlist the finalists for the competition. Judging will be based on the following criteria: value proposition, target market, competitive advantage, business model and innovation. Based on the results, 5 finalists and 3 runners-up will be chosen and then announced on September 3rd. Top winner will receive $5,000 in cash prizes and the attention of investors, incubators and developers. Sounds good, right?
On the other hand, StartUp Demo is taken for entrepreneurs with innovative digital young startups that are less than two years old. Through the pitches, they will get exposure to investors, potential clients and strategic partners and media coverage as well.
Both StartUp Demo and Ideathon finalists will be pitching on stage on October 4th. The winners will be announced during the closing ceremony on October 5th.
